Individuals and families in our local area can find it difficult to afford food for themselves and their children. St. Philip’s endeavors to address this need in practical ways.
BCHG Mobile Market
Local nonprofit Bucks County Housing Group offers the BCHG Mobile Market to help improve food accessibility. It operates two pantry vans that travel to locations throughout Bucks County – including St. Philip’s.
Every Thursday, from 3 to 5 p.m., a BCHG pantry van brings fresh food and pantry staples to the St. Philip’s parking lot. Food packages are available free of charge to individuals whose annual income is less than $27,000 and to families whose annual income is less than $35,000.
If you’d like to participate, please email michael@stphilipsnewhope.org so that we can be sure to have enough food in a given week.
St. Philips Blessing Box
The St. Philip’s Blessing Box is a “micro larder” located next to the parking lot on the church grounds. This mini food pantry is always open to receive donations and give to those in need.
Parishioners and other members of the community are invited to drop off nonperishable food and personal items. Suggested food items include dried rice, dried black beans, canned tuna, jarred tomato sauce, macaroni and cheese, granola bars, and small condiment jars.
