St. Philip’s Embraces Essential Work

A new Michener Museum exhibition, Essential Work 2020: A Community Portrait, features this uplifting photo by Rev. Cathy Kerr of a recent St. Philip’s “Mass on the Grass.”

The exhibition of more than 25 local images, selected from hundreds of entries, celebrates the many meanings of “essential work.” Cathy submitted the photo as a tribute to “to all clergy, chaplains and others who creatively persist in the work of ministry during these difficult times.”

Mass on the Grass was just one way St. Philip’s continued its essential work after restrictions on social gatherings were put in place in March 2020. Check out the photos below, which highlight how Father Michael and the entire St. Philip’s parish pulled together to strengthen connections, support the New Hope community, and bring hope to those deeply affected by the pandemic over the past 12 months.
